Star Trek: Discovery Season 4 Teases the Series’ Next Threat

Last season on Star Trek: Discovery, Michael Burnham and the crew of Discovery landed nearly 1,000 years in the future. They were also the main reason why the Federation became viable again, after they discovered the cause of the Burn. However, there’s a new threat on the horizon, and it’s more than a rival alien race or just another interplanetary conflict.

Paramount+ has released the first teaser for Star Trek: Discovery season 4, which finds the universe at the mercy of a gravitational anomaly. The anomaly is five light years across, and it can also reappear anywhere. The crew gets a first hand look at what the anomaly can do to their ship, and the carnage it leaves behind.

Regardless, it looks like the crew is rallying around Michael as their new captain. There’s also a glimpse of Saru, the previous captain of Discovery. He’ll be around in some capacity. Many of the supporting characters also get brief moments in this teaser…even Grudge! Additionally, it looks like Michael will reunite with her mother on Ni’Var, the planet formerly known as Vulcan.

Star Trek: Discovery season 4 will hit Paramount+ near the end of 2021.
