The Falcon and the Winter Soldier Episode 3 – What Did You Think?!

Warning: There are spoilers ahead for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier episode 3!

The search for the Flag Smashers has come up empty, and that’s why Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes are turning to an old enemy for help. Disney+ has premiered the third episode of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and we want to know what the Superhero Hype community thinks about it!

Bucky insists on seeing Helmut Zemo alone in prison. However, that was just a ruse so that Sam couldn’t interfere with Bucky’s plan to get Zemo out. Zemo agrees to help them track down the super-soldiers through his former Hydra connections. He also flaunts his wealth and reveals that he is a Baron, like his comic book counterpart. Using Zemo’s connections, they travel to Madripoor, a fictional country that should be very familiar to Wolverine fans. Zemo also provides a cover identity for Sam, while insisting that Bucky act as if he is still the brainwashed Winter Soldier.

During the meeting with Zemo’s criminal contact, Selby, the trio learn that Dr. Wilfred Nagel created the new Super Soldier serum. A poorly timed phone call from Sam’s sister, Sarah, exposes his true identity. In the chaos that follows, Selby is assassinated, and a bounty is placed on the trio. Fortunately, Sharon Carter arrives and escorts them to safety.

In her new home, Sharon reveals that she has embraced the life of an outlaw and become extremely cynical. Sam offers to clear Sharon’s name if she helps them find Nagel. The next day, she takes the trio to a shipping depot where Nagel’s lab is hidden. As bounty hunters close in on them, Nagel reveals that he created twenty doses of the Super Soldier serum before they were stolen by Karli Morgenthau and the Flag Smashers. Zemo executes Nagel before either Sam or Bucky can stop him.

Shortly thereafter, Zemo seemingly abandons Sam, Bucky, and Sharon to the bounty hunters. But Zemo returns to eliminate the remaining bounty hunters and provide a getaway vehicle. Sharon remains in Madripoor while reminding Sam to live up to his deal. On the plane, Sam suggests that he should have destroyed Cap’s shield, while Bucky reiterates his desire to steal the shield from the new Cap, John Walker. Meanwhile, John and Lemar Hoskins/Battlestar realize that Sam and Bucky freed Zemo from prison. But rather than report them, they decide to follow their trail back to the Flag Smashers.

After arriving in Latvia with Zemo and Sam, Bucky recognizes a high tech bead in the street. Bucky tells them that he’s taking a walk before collecting more beads. He then comes face-to-face with Ayo from the Dora Milaje. The Wakandan warrior says that she has come for Zemo, the man who killed her former king in Captain America: Civil War.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier‘s first three episodes are on Disney+. The fourth episode will debut on Friday, April 9.
