Report: HBO is Developing Three More Game of Thrones Spinoffs

Next year, the Game of Thrones franchise will expand with the House of the Dragon prequel series. However, it will be far from the last expansion if HBO has its way. According to Deadline, HBO is developing three new GoT spinoff series.

The first of the new trio already has an executive producer attached: Bruno Heller, the creator of HBO’s Rome. Heller’s series is tentatively called 9 Voyages, and it puts the spotlight on Lord Corlys Velaryon. Lord Velaryon is the leader of his house, and he is also a legendary figure who is known as The Sea Snake, and the Lord of the Tides. Varity notes that Steve Toussaint has already been cast as Lord Velaryon on House of the Dragons. That could potentially allow Toussaint to play the role on two shows.

HBO’s second project is all about Princess Nymeria, a warrior queen who founded the kingdom of Dorne. Nymeria is also “a revered ancestor of House Martell,” which is why Nymeria Sand (pictured above) was named after her. Even Arya Stark admired Nymeria, and named her direwolf in Nymeria’s honor.

There are fewer details known about HBO’s third prospective spinoff series. But it will be set in Flea Bottom, the infamous slum in King’s Landing that was once home to Davos Seaworth and Gendry Baratheon.

Earlier this year, HBO also put a Tales of Dunk and Egg prequel series in development, as well as a GoT animated series. Regardless, it’s far from guaranteed that all of them will go forward. The first Game of Thrones spinoff series only had a pilot episode before HBO abandoned it in favor of House of the Dragon.
