Doom Patrol Season 3 Adds Michelle Gomez as Madame Rouge

Following the conclusion of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Michelle Gomez has just booked her next villainous role in the DC Universe. TVLine is reporting that Gomez has signed on to play Madame Rouge in the next season of HBO Max’s Doom Patrol.

Madame Rouge and the Doom Patrol actually go way back. The character originally appeared in Doom Patrol #86 in 1964 as the alter-ego of French stage actress Laura De Mille. After a car accident caused her to develop a good/evil split personality, Laura was eventually found by the Brotherhood of Evil’s The Brain and Monsieur Mallah. The duo performed surgery on her that kept her evil side in control, with later operations giving her the ability to elongate her limbs and change her appearance at will.

Needless to say, Gomez knows a thing or two about bringing villains to life on the small screen. Apart from Chilling Adventures, she also had a recurring role as Missy/The Master on Doctor Who. More recently, she starred opposite Kaley Cuoco on HBO Max’s The Flight Attendant.

Gomez’s addition to Doom Patrol marks the first major bit of casting for the show’s third season. It also marks the first time we’re seeing Madame Rouge in live-action. The character previously showed up on Cartoon Network’s Teen Titans animated series, voiced by Hynden Walch. Apparently, viewers can expect Gomez’s take on the villainess to arrive at Doom Manor with “a very specific mission” to fulfill. But there’s one problem: she can’t remember what it is.

HBO Max still hasn’t announced a premiere date for Doom Patrol season 3.
