WandaVision Episode 5 – What Did You Think?!

Warning: There are spoilers ahead for WandaVision episode 5!

Guess who’s coming to dinner? Someone you already know has arrived on WandaVision, and the potential implications are huge. Disney+ has premiered the fifth episode of WandaVision, and we want to  know what the Superhero Hype community thinks about it!

Within Westview’s ’80s setting, Wanda and Vision can’t get their new babies, Billy and Tommy, to sleep. Vision is also perplexed when Agnes arrives to help, and then asks Wanda about repeating her sitcom lines. Additionally, Agnes doesn’t seem to notice or care when Billy and Tommy age up into five year old boys. Shortly thereafter, the brothers bring a dog into the house. And when Wanda and Vision tell them they’re too young to take care of “Sparky,” they simply age themselves another five years.

Outside Westview, Monica’s debrief alarms S.W.O.R.D.; and the agency escalates its attempts to communicate with the people on the other side of the barrier. Inside Westview, Vision sees a S.W.O.R.D. e-mail warning about the radiation. Vision also temporarily frees his co-worker, Norm, from Wanda’s mind control.

Meanwhile, Monica surmises that she survived her expulsion from Westview because Wanda willed it. She also determines that her ’70s style clothes were transformed from the kevlar outfit she wore when she entered Westview. Darcy theorizes that an object can remain untransformed if it fits the sitcom’s time period. That’s why an ’80s drone successfully crosses over. However, Monica is alarmed when Director Hayward attempts to use the drone to assassinate Wanda.

Wanda not only survives, she emerges from the barrier and warns S.W.O.R.D. to leave her alone. She also uses mind control to get the agents to point their weapons at Hayward. When Wanda returns to Westview and reunites with her sons, Agnes reveals that Sparky has died. Billy and Tommy plead with Wanda to resurrect the dog, outing her powers in front of Agnes.

At home, Vision confronts Wanda about what he’s learned and refuses to let her drop the subject. Vision also reiterates his alarm that he no longer remembers life before Westview. But before the situation can escalate further, Wanda and Vision are surprised by the return of her brother, Pietro. But it’s not the Quicksilver from the MCU. Instead, he’s apparently the Pietro/Quicksilver from the X-Men movies, as played by Evan Peters.

WandaVision‘s first five episodes are on Disney+. The sixth episode will debut on Friday, February 12.
