Jon Cor Cast As Chillblaine In The Flash Season 7

Leonard Snart/Captain Cold may be out of the Arrowverse, but there’s a new villain on The Flash who will carry on his villainous legacy. TVLine is reporting that Jon Cor has landed a recurring role as Mark Stevens aka Chillblaine.

In the comics, Chillblaine was the partner and lover of Lisa Snart/Golden Glider, who provided him with her brother’s tech. However, Chillblaine ultimately turned on Lisa and murdered her. Regardless, TVLine’s report notes that Peyton List isn’t expected to reprise her role as Lisa Snart. Instead, the series will go in its own direction with Chillblaine.

According to The CW’s description, “Scientist Mark Stevens is a charismatic bad boy obsessed with cryogenic technology. But when he’s not breaking into corporate safes, he’s busy breaking hearts with his irresistible charm and roguish style. Armed with his own cold weapons, he’ll become a new thorn in the side of Team Flash as the DC Comics villain Chillblaine.”

Cor has a few genre credits to his name, including a two season stint on Shadowhunters, as well as roles in Being Human, Dark Matter, and Lost in Space. His recent credits also include two made-for-TV Christmas movies: Christmas on the Vine and Cross Country Christmas.

Chillblaine isn’t expected to be the primary villain of The Flash‘s new season. After Team Flash inevitably beats Mirror Master/Eva McCulloch (Efrat Dor), a new adversary will arise that “threatens to tear [Barry’s] team — and his marriage — apart.” That may include the real Godspeed, who will also be introduced in season 7.

The Flash season 7 will hit The CW on February 23.
