May Calamawy Joins the Cast of Marvel Studios’ Moon Knight Series

Although Oscar Isaac is reportedly set to star in Marvel’s Moon Knight series, neither Marvel Studios nor Disney+ have confirmed him yet. Regardless, the show may have just found its leading actress. According to The Hollywood Reporter, May Calamawy has joined the cast of Moon Knight in a “key role.”

The report doesn’t indicate which character Calamawy will portray in the series. But if she’s in a leading role, then she would likely play Marlene Alraune. In the comics, Marlene was the first person to encounter Marc Spector after he became the Fist of Khonshu. Following the murder of her father, Marlene accompanied Marc as he returned to the United States as Moon Knight. She was also his on-again, off-again girlfriend for years.

Calamawy is best known for her role on Hulu’s Ramy. She has also had roles in The Long Road Home, Madam Secretary, and FBI.
