The Arrowverse isn’t what it used to be. Green Arrow is gone, while Black Lightning and Supergirl will soon be out of the picture. Even the original Batwoman, Kate Kane (Ruby Rose), is missing and presumed dead. However, someone unexpected will come to Gotham City later this month. Javicia Leslie has joined the series to play Ryan Wilder, the new Batwoman. Somehow, it’s Ryan’s destiny to take up the mantle, and it’s the start of a new era.
Via The CW, there’s a new Batwoman season 2 poster featuring Ryan unmasked in the Bat suit. Additionally, the poster promises “a new beginning” as Gotham City looms in the background.

Leslie isn’t the only new addition to the cast this season. Shivani Ghai, Leah Gibson, Nathan Owens, and Alex Morf are also joining the show. Ghai is playing Safiyah, while Gibson is portraying Safiyah’s personal assassin, The Whisper. Additionally, Owens is set to play a gardner named Ocean, while Morf steps into the role of serial killer Victor Zsasz.
Batwoman season 2 will premiere on Sunday, January 17, 2021.
