There’s aggressive programming, and then there’s Disney aggressive programming. Ahead of today’s Disney Investment Day presentation, Disney+ revealed that ten Marvel original series will be produced in the next few years. Three of the new shows were announced by Kevin Feige himself: Secret Invasion, Ironheart, and Armor Wars.
Secret Invasion will follow up on Captain Marvel, as well as Spider-Man: Far From Home‘s post-credits scene that had Nick Fury on a Skrull ship. Samuel L. Jackson will reprise his role as Fury, while Ben Mendelsohn will be back as the Skrull Talos. Although the Skrulls were sympathetic in Captain Marvel, a renegade group has infiltrated all aspects of life on Earth.
Ironheart will focus on Riri Williams, a teenage girl whose genius may rival the late Tony Stark. If Beale Street Could Talk‘s Dominique Thorne has already been cast as Riri. In the comics, Riri builds her own Iron Man-like armor while attending MIT. She also went on to become a hero in her own right, and a member of the Champions.

Finally, Armor Wars is based on the classic Iron Man story in which Stark’s technology fell into the wrong hands. It will also be the defacto War Machine series, since Don Cheadle is reprising his role as James Rhodes. With Tony Stark gone, it falls to War Machine to tackle this problem head on.
