We are a little more than a month away from the second season of Batwoman. The CW’s series was one of the first shows from the CWverse to resume production following the COVID-19 outbreak. And now, the television network has released a brand new teaser for the upcoming season. The brief clip focuses on the new heroine, Javicia Leslie’s Ryan Wilder. Ryan becomes Gotham City’s new Batwoman after Ruby Rose’s Kate Kane left the show. The video features Rachel Skarsten’s Alice, who is already plotting to take advantage of the new vigilante in town. In the meantime, Wilder’s Batwoman is putting a beating on some hapless criminal.
“I met the new girl,” Alice says in the promo. “She is going to be a… handful.”

In the debut season, Alice and the titular heroine had some ups and downs in her relationship. They alternated episodes where they clashed with episodes in which they joined forces to fight greater menaces. It will be interesting to see how the show will develop the relationship between Alice and the new Batwoman, since Kate Kane was her twin sister.
Besides Javicia Leslie, the sophomore season will see Shivani Ghai, Leah Gibson, Nathan Owens, and Alex Morf joining the show. Batwoman Season 2 will premiere on Jan. 17, 2021.
