Netflix is dropping new photos every day this week from the upcoming The Witcher Season 2, and today, it’s Yennefer’s turn. The new stills feature a wounded Yennefer who is in the middle of the woods. Given the show’s peculiar timeline, it’s hard to guess when this is happening, but it’s safe to assume that the Battle of Sodden has already taken place. And given that Yennefer is showed in chains in one of the pics, it’s likely that she fought on the losing side of that battle. It appears that the Nilfgaardian soldier managed to capture the sorceress, eventually.

She used her full might,
and the battlefield burned.

As the few lines that accompany the images recall, the last time fans saw Yennefer, she unleashed all her hidden magical power during the Battle of Sodden before disappearing. The freshman season only scratched the surface of the love-hate relationship between Yennefer and Geralt of Rivia. The sophomore season is supposed to explore both Yennefer’s relationship with the witcher and Ciri, who might need a maternal figure after losing her grandmother, Queen Calanthe.
Netflix will release The Witcher Season 2 somewhere in 2021.
