WandaVision won’t be the only Marvel-centric show coming to Disney+ this year. The upcoming series, Marvel’s 616, is an eight-part documentary that explores various aspects of the Marvel Universe and its fandom. Now, Entertainment Weekly has debuted a new trailer for the docuseries, as well as details about each episode.
While the trailer features former Amazing Spider-Man writer Dan Slott boasting that he killed Spidey, his episode will actually chronicle the creation of the Iron Man 2020 comic that came out earlier this year. Director Bryan Oakes also followed Slott, artist Pete Woods, and editor Tom Brevoort as they worked on the comic. Additionally, the infamous Japanese Spider-Man TV series will be the focus of the first episode. David Gelb (Jiro Dreams of Sushi) is helming that episode.

Alison Brie may not have been cast as She-Hulk, but she and her Community co-star, Gillian Jacobs, both directed episodes of this series. Jacobs directed the second episode, which also focuses on the creation of Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel. Brie’s episode will feature students who put on Marvel Spotlight plays as part of their high school drama education.
Paul Scheer directed an episode that features “the most obscure, wild, and forgotten Marvel characters,” while Andrew Rossi’s episode follows Marvel cosplayers. Director Clay Jeter’s episode will throw the spotlight on Spanish artists Javier Garrón and Natacha Bustos. Finally, director Sarah Ramos (Parenthood) will helm an episode about Marvel’s toys.
Marvel’s 616 will drop all eight episodes on Disney+ on November 30.
