This year’s San Diego Comic-Con will go down in the history books as the first virtual edition of this convention. Nevertheless, the promoters are doing their best to guarantee the usual high-quality standards fans expect. Now, Deadline has revealed a new part of SDCC’s schedule, bringing word that the Star Trek panel will feature some juicy news about the next season of Picard. Patrick Stewart will make a virtual appearance together with part of the cast to discuss the first season of the fan-favorite show.
The Trek-verse panel will start at 10 AM PT on July 23. Executive producers Alex Kurtzman and Heather Kadin will welcome the fans, offering an overview of the whole schedule.

Then the panel will move to a virtual table read of Star Trek: Discovery‘s Season 2 finale with actress Sonequa Martin-Green and the rest of the cast. Fans will also meet the lead actors of newest franchise addition Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, as Rebecca Romijn, Anson Mount, and Ethan Peck will be there. The third full live-action show in the Alex Kurtzman-era will feature the new adventures of Spock, Pike, and Number One. A Q&A will follow the table read.
Besides that, this year’s panel will debut an extended clip from the upcoming Star Trek: Lower Decks animated series. The show will premiere on August 6 on CBS All Access.
San Diego Comic-Con@Home will take place from July 22-26. The panels will be available on the event’s YouTube page.
