The Falcon and the Winter Soldier Among Projects to Resume European Production

There is some good and bad news for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier fans. The bad news is that it seems that the COVID-19 outbreak will impact the series’ release after all. Marvel Studios intended to debut its first Disney+ offering in August, but if the latest reports from The Hollywood Reporter are accurate, this won’t happen anymore. The good news, though, is that the series will continue production somewhere in fall. Most of the work is already done, but there is still some shooting to do. Disney is currently planning a nine-day trip to the Czech Republic this fall to finish the work. It seems highly unlikely that they will start airing the show on Disney+ before wrapping up all the production.

We already brought word about Jurassic World: Dominion (early July) and Netflix’s The Witcher (August 6) starting up again in the U.K. soon. But it seems that most of the series and movies fans are waiting for will resume production in the Old Continent despite the EU’s U.S. travel ban. Hungary and the Czech Republic have made exceptions for production, so Denis Villeneuve’s Dune is going to re-start shooting later this year — supposedly in August — at Origo Film Studio in Hungary. The same goes for Showtime’s Halo adaptation and for Amazon’s Carnival Row Season 2, both of which should re-start production next month.
