At this point, a new season of HBO’s Watchmen probably isn’t happening, at least not with Damon Lindelof at the helm. Lindelof confirmed earlier this year that he was officially bowing out of the series. Regardless, that hasn’t stopped him from revisiting the show for a special PSA to address the novel coronavirus pandemic. In order to encourage good hygiene during this stressful time, Lindelof rounded up several Watchmen cast members for a short video titled Washmen. You can check it out via Lindelof’s official Instagram page below.
Tim Blake Nelson (Wade Tillman/Looking Glass), Regina King (Angela Abar/Sister Night) Jovan Adepo (young Will Reeves), Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (Cal Abar), Jean Smart (Laurie Blake), Dustin Ingram (Agent Petey), Sara Vickers (Crookshanks), Tom Mison (Phillips), and Andrew Howard (Red Scare) all show up to teach Watchmen viewers how to properly wash their hands to prevent the spread of COVID-19. They introduce themselves as their characters from the show. Some even go the extra mile by dressing up in costume (or in Ingram’s case, another character’s costume).

As Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross’ score thrums in the background, the actors stress the importance of washing your hands for 20 seconds. Each one proposes a different way to pass that time. Smart, once again channeling Laurie’s snarky disposition, suggests telling a joke. Ingram, meanwhile, prefers to look in the mirror and say, “You’re an FBI agent, not the Lone f***ing Ranger.” Of course, it might be easier for some people to just sing a song. And fortunately, Mison and Vickers offer two options to choose from. Mison also shared a friendly reminder that the virus, which recently topped 500,000 confirmed cases worldwide, doesn’t discriminate.
“We’re not one person,” said Mison. “We’re a community. Look after each other.”
