DC Universe and The CW Push Stargirl Premiere Back a Week

Earlier this month, DC Universe and The CW finally set a pair of premiere dates for Stargirl. However, the streaming service and the network have decided to delay the premiere for a week. Therefore, Stargirl will now premiere on Monday, May 18 on DC Universe. And thanks to the Stargirl custody sharing agreement with DC Universe, The CW will run the first on Tuesday, May 19. That airing pattern will follow throughout the first season. Additionally, DC Universe viewers will be able to watch extended verions of “select episodes.” Subscribers will also be able to see behind-the-scenes clips, interviews, and get access to collectible pins and posters.

Geoff Johns co-created the Stargirl character for DC Comics, and he’s also co-showrunning the live-action series. Brec Bassinger headlines the series as Courtney Whitmore, a teenager who discovers that her step-dad, Pat Dugan (Luke Wilson), was once the protege of Starman. Once Courtney finds Starman’s Cosmic Rod, she reinvents herself as Stargirl and embraces life as a superhero. Unfortunately for Courtney, that also makes her a target for the Injustice Society.
