Terminator: Dark Fate

SYFY’s Resident Alien Series Adds Linda Hamilton to the Recurring Cast

Linda Hamilton may be done with the Terminator franchise, but she’s not done with sci-fi. Instead, she’s turning her attention from killer robots to extraterrestrials. Hamilton just booked her first big project since Terminator: Dark Fate. According to Deadline, she’ll co-star in SYFY’s adaptation of Resident Alien.

It sounds like Hamilton is also bringing Sarah Connor’s no-nonsense attitude to the upcoming series, which is based on the Dark Horse comic book of the same name. She will play General McCallister, “a high-ranking general who seemingly plays by the rules and runs a tight ship but secretly oversees a covert operation looking for aliens.” She will recruit soldiers to locate Alan Tudyk’s title character, a visitor from another planet who is hiding in plain sight on Earth.

Playing McCallister’s cohorts are Mandell Maughan and Alex Barima as Lisa Casper and David Logan. Casper outwardly appears sheltered, but she’s actually a “high-strung badass.” Meanwhile, Logan was recently dismissed from the military for an undisclosed reason.

SYFY first announced that it was developing a Resident Alien TV series almost a full year ago. Family Guy alum Chris Sheridan is writing and executive producing the series. Although the original comic isn’t exactly well-known, Tudyk’s involvement should help pique viewers’ interest. He also has a lot of sci-fi experience thanks to his appearances in Firefly and Rogue One, to name a few examples.

Resident Alien is still without a premiere date, but it will likely debut this year.
