The cast of CBS All Access’ The Stand remake continues to grow. Deadline reports that Eion Bailey (top right), Katherine McNamara (top middle), and Hamish Linklater (top right) have all joined the upcoming miniseries in supporting roles. They’ll star alongside James Marsden, Amber Heard, Whoopi Goldberg, Alexander Skarsgard, and more.
Bailey is primarily known for making recurring appearances on TV shows like Once Upon a Time and Ray Donovan. Meanwhile, McNamara is a series regular on Arrow as Mia Smoak and she also led the cast of Shadowhunters for three seasons. Linklater recently concluded his three-season run on Legion as Clark Debussy. He’s also part of the main cast of Tell Me Your Secrets, an upcoming drama series on TNT.

Writers Josh Boone and Ben Cavell are adapting Stephen King’s post-apocalyptic novel for CBS All Access. Bailey will play Teddy Weizak, “a superflu survivor and member of the body crew.” King actually played this role himself in two episodes of The Stand TV miniseries in 1994. McNamara has been cast as Julie Lawry. In the novel, Julie was the only person in her Kansas hometown to have survived the superflu. The series will also show her “wild side” as she crosses paths with Nat Wolff’s Lloyd Henreid n Las Vegas. Finally, Linklater will co-star as Dr. Ellis, an infectious-disease specialist who wants to be the one to cure the virus.
Production on The Stand is already underway in Vancouver. The 10 episode series is still without an official release date. However, it will definitely debut on CBS All Access in 2020.
