HBO’s Watchmen Is Coming To New York Comic Con

The Doomsday Clock is getting closer to midnight for New York Comic Con. The October event will play host for HBO’s Watchmen, and the premiere episode for the series is set to make its debut there.

The official New York Comic Con Instagram account posted the announcement about the comic book series. It invites fans to “join producers and series stars for an exclusive sneak peek of the first episode of the HBO series @watchmen followed by a panel discussion on Friday, Oct 4 at #NYCC19.” The post, along with a some footage from the show, is below.

The panel will take place starting at 3:45 PM on the Main Stage. Damon Lindelof will be on the panel alongside director Nicole Kassell with series stars Regina King, Jeremy Irons, and more. At San Diego Comic-Con, the trailer teased the return of Doctor Manhattan. However, we have yet to learn who will play that iconic character. That’s the kind of revelation that may also be revealed at NYCC. Here’s the official series description from New York Comic Con:

“Set in an alternate history where masked vigilantes are treated as outlaws, HBO’s upcoming series Watchmen embraces the nostalgia of the original groundbreaking graphic novel of the same name while breaking new ground of its own. Damon Lindelof’s new series is set in contemporary 2019 where 30 years have passed since the original Watchmen story.”

Watchmen will premiere on HBO on Sunday, October 20.
