Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season 7 Will Arrive In February 2020

Shock and awe was the order of the day for Disney+ at D23. In addition to announcing three new Marvel Studios series, Disney+ dropped the trailer for The Mandalorian and confirmed the Obi-Wan Kenobi series. On the animation front, Lucasfilm revealed that the heavily anticipated revival of Star Wars: The Clone Wars is coming very soon. Season 7 will hit Disney+ in February 2020.

The Clone Wars went a long way towards fan interest in Star Wars alive when it debuted in 2008. It was set between the events of Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith, while expanding upon a conflict hinted in the very first Star Wars movie. However, Disney’s purchase of Lucasfilm in 2012 derailed The Clone Wars and the series came to a premature end.

Last year at Comic-Con, Star Wars animation veteran Dave Filoni revealed that the seventh season of The Clone Wars was finally happening. Twelve new episodes will explore the final days of The Clone Wars, while revealing what happened to Ahsoka Tano after she left the Jedi Order. One of the upcoming stories will also explore the siege of Mandalore, a turning point in the war. The previous trailer for season 7 also showed Ahsoka’s lightsaber duel with Maul; which was referenced in Star Wars Rebels.
