Jon Favreau Says Boba Fett Won’t Be In The Mandalorian

Star Wars fans are awaiting The Mandalorian‘s first trailer at D23. But before that event, series creator Jon Favreau definitively addressed whether Boba Fett would appear in the series.

When asked if the franchise’s most popular bounty hunter would be in the show, Favreau told Comic Book Resources that “Boba Fett is not. They’re all-new, original characters.”

Regardless of his absence, Favreau made sure that there are Boba Fett references in the show.

“Even the rifle with a forked end on it, the bayonet on the end, was from the holiday special with Boba Fett in it – the original time you saw him. So we have lots of deep cuts in the show and I can’t wait for people who love Star Wars to see it.”

“I’m at a time frame that there’s a 30-year stretch of story time that hasn’t been explored at all, except in the Extended Universe,” added Favreau.

The Mandalorian features Pedro Pascal in the title role as a bounty hunter on the outer rim. Gina Carano co-stars in the series alongside Carl Weathers, Giancarlo Esposito, and Nick Nolte. The first episode will debut on the Disney+ on November 12. The series’ poster also make its way online earlier today.
