Amazon’s Wheel of Time Series Adds Five to the Cast

Amazon Studios’ adaptation of Robert Jordan’s The Wheel of Time is spinning right along. Rosamund Pike previously joined the cast as Aes Sedai Moiraine. Now, the official Wheel of Time Twitter account has confirmed five additional cast members.

Josha Stradowski (pictured top left) will step into the role of Rand Al’Thor. He’s a newcomer in the film industry, and recently appeared in the TV film Just Friends.

Next up is Marcus Rudda, aka Marcus Rutherford. He will be portraying Perrin Aybara.

Showrunner Rafe Judkins also shared a story about how Rudda got the role: “This man walked into the room, read a scene that made every single person watching cry, and walked out. We all looked at each other and said, ‘He is Perrin.’ Glad you’re all getting to meet him now too.”

Zoe Robins is also joining the cast as Nynaevel. She previously appeared in the Power Rangers Ninja Steel series as Hayley Roster.

Judkins also had something to say about Robins as well.

“We had the pick of the world on these cast members. Sent about two dozen Nynaeve tapes to the writers’ room to see who everyone liked and every. single. person. had one response — ‘Zoe.’ I am already stanning her if that’s how you use that word.”

Additionally, Barney Harris will play Mat Cauthon. He previously appeared in the film Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk.

Judkins was happy with his audition as well. “Barney simply is Mat,” he proclaimed. “There is nothing more to say here. You will fall over dead when you see him.”

Finally, Madeleine Madden (pictured top right) rounds out the new cast additions as Egwene Al’Vere. She previously starred in Marion Quade in Picnic at Hanging Rock.

“I’m glad you all finally get to meet Egwene,” said Judkins. “She is the character in the books I often identify with most and Maddy makes her even more than the woman I admired reading for all those years. These five are the most incredible talents and I am honored to be able to work with them.”

The show is currently in pre-production and doesn’t have a release date, but it does look like things are coming together pretty well for it. What do you think about the Wheel of Time casting news? Let us know in the comments below!
