Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. makes its long-awaited return to ABC this Friday with the spy team embarking on a new intergalactic adventure. Ahead of the season premiere, the network has released a new clip from the episode via Entertainment Weekly. You can check it out for yourself below.
The clip starts out with agents Piper and Davis flying the team’s S.H.I.E.L.D. jet in an attempt to outrun an unseen adversary. After docking at a fueling station on a hostile-looking planet, the jet is boarded by the planet’s D’Rillian inhabitants. They encounter none other than Daisy Johnson. Even though she’s light years from Earth, Daisy’s super-powered reputation as Quake precedes her.

Daisy and Natasha Romanoff haven’t shared any screen time in the MCU, but apparently that hasn’t stopped the former from learning a few tricks from the Black Widow school of self-defense. Jemma Simmons also appears and reveals the team’s space mission is still ongoing.
Clearly, the agents are still looking for Fitz, who remains cryogenically frozen somewhere in deep space. The new season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. marks the first MCU project to debut after Avengers: Endgame. However, since it’s unlikely to fast-forward five years into the future, don’t expect the series to acknowledge the fallout from Thanos’ moment of triumph.
