This season on Arrow, the story has focused on Oliver Queen’s legacy and what he’ll leave behind when his time as the Green Arrow is over. With the recent announcement of Arrow‘s imminent end, that time may be running out. However, the flash forward sequences have already revealed that Oliver failed. The future of Star City isn’t bright, and it’s embittered Oliver and Felicity’s daughter, Mia. In the first promo for Arrow episode 7.16, Mia’s birth is glimpsed a mere nine months from the present. But if Mia’s narration is any indications, the good times won’t last long.
“Star City 2040” will be an all flash forward episode, with Mia and her half brother, William, taking the spotlight. The Queen siblings have been kept apart most of their lives, but now they have a mission together. First, they have to save Star City from a plot to destroy it, and then they have to find Felicity. Oliver’s fate in this timeline has yet to be revealed. However, if the first season of Legends of Tomorrow is any indication, Oliver might still be out there…

Here’s the official description from The CW: “FLASH FORWARD TO THE FUTURE Mia (guest star Katherine McNamara) and William (guest star Ben Lewis) venture into the Glades on a dangerous mission. There they run into Dinah (Juliana Harkavy), Roy (Colton Haynes) and Zoe (guest star Andrea Sixtos) who deliver some devastating news. The flash forwards share highlights from Mia’s childhood with Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards).”
