The Hollywood Reporter has announced that SYFY is giving a series order to an adaptation of Dark Horse’s Resident Alien comic. Alan Tudyk will headline the show as Harry, an alien who crash-lands on Earth and ingratiates himself into a small town community.
Peter Hogan and artist Steve Parkhouse created Resident Alien, which debuted in 2012. Harry’s real name is Captain Hah Re, an alien biologist possessing empath abilities. His supernatural powers allow him to disguise his pointy-eared, purple-skinned appearance. Regardless, readers still see him in his regular form. The comic takes place in the fictional town of Patience, Washington. However, the TV show will change the setting to Colorado. Tudyk will likely wear makeup and prosthetics for the show. However, Tudyk’s experience in I, Robot and Rogue One may prove that motion capture would also be effective.
