Captain Marvel Co-Writer Showrunning Vision and Scarlet Witch Series

The Disney+ original series, Vision and Scarlet Witch, is moving forward with Marvel Studios. The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Jac Schaeffer, one of the writers behind Captain Marvel, will write and executive produce the series. According to the report, Paul Bettany and Elizabeth Olsen are both expected to reprise their roles.

Schaeffer co-wrote the Captain Marvel screenplay with Geneva Robertson-Dworet and directors Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck. She also penned the script for the upcoming Black Widow standalone film. Cate Shortland will direct Black Widow, with Scarlett Johansson once again portraying Natasha Romanoff. Unless the new Vision and Scarlet Witch series is an Avengers: Infinity War prequel, it will follow the titular duo after they are restored. Their serialized adventures could potentially show them trying to balance their budding romance in the aftermath of Avengers: Endgame.

Vision and Scarlet Witch is the third Marvel TV series known to be in development at Disney+. Previously, the studio teased plans for a series led by Tom Hiddleston’s Loki and a Falcon/Winter Soldier team-up starring Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan. Loki is currently without a creative team. However, Malcom Spellman (Empire) is the showrunner for the Falcon and Winter Soldier series. If these shows are successful on Disney+, we may see even more MCU movie heroes come to the new streaming service.

Disney+ will launch later this year. However, Vision and Scarlet Witch is still without a release date. Are you excited for the upcoming series? Give us your impressions in the comment section below!
