This year’s Arrowverse crossover, Elseworlds, is currently filming and another behind the scenes picture has come out. Heroic Hollywood shared this close up of Ruby Rose as Batwoman straight from Supergirl star Melissa Benoist.

A full body image previously excited the internet, now this is the first close up of Rose as Batwoman. This might be the Arrowverse’s most accurate comic book suit yet. Her mask and hair alone is enough to put the new Batwoman costume on a pedestal. Long time comic readers may notice little details like her panel perfect lip color. The bat symbol and belt even shine in the shadows. Batwoman’s cape can’t be seen in this image, which means there may be even more close up reveals to peak fans’ interest.

The Batwoman and Supergirl actresses look like best friends here, but their characters might not be as close during the crossover. Everything is in play in Elseworlds, and nothing can be taken for granted.
In the comics, Kate Kane was inspired by an interaction with Batman. She went on to apply her military training and an arsenal of original weapons against the criminals of Gotham City. Batwoman made history as the biggest gay character from DC Comics and arguably all super hero books. If the Elseworlds crossover is successful enough to spawn a Batwoman series, as expected, Rose’s Batwoman will be the first gay or lesbian lead on a live-action super hero show.
