Four actors, two professional and two amateur, will win speaking roles in the upcoming sequel. Winners will be selected by a jury with insight from director Michael Bay. The jury for the show will consist of Sid Ganis, the former head of the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences and the current chairman of Jiaflix; Transformers 4 producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura and casting director Denise Chamian; Paramount’s marketing and distribution chief Megan Colligan; China Movie Channel deputy director Jia Qi (who picks the Western movies which play on Chinese TV); and Liang Longfel, vp of M1905, a web site owned by China Movie Channel.
Transformers 4 was announced as a co-production with China a few weeks ago. This competition series should prove successful there as reality TV is reportedly one of the most popular forms of entertainment in the country.
Transformers 4 will star Mark Wahlberg, Nicola Peltz, Jack Reynor, Stanley Tucci and Kelsey Grammer and is scheduled to hit theaters on June 27, 2014.
