True Believer Teaser to Debut at Comic-Con

An exclusive teaser of the new documentary True Believer: The Fantastic Journey of Marvel Man Stan Lee will premiere July 26 at Comic-Con 2007 in San Diego, CA.

The comic icon himself will be on hand to choose ten of Stan’s Biggest Fans. The lucky raffle winners will be filmed explaining why they are Stan Lee’s biggest fans. The best footage will be posted on YouTube and could even make it into the “True Believer” documentary. Following the premiere and raffle, there will be a Q&A featuring the following:

Paul Levitz, President, DC Comics



Tom DeSanto, Producer, X-Men, Transformers, X2



Dick Ayers, legendary DC and Marvel Comics artist



Michael Uslan, Executive Producer, Batman, The Spirit, The Shadow

Following the Q&A, Comic-Con fans will be treated to an autograph signing session with Stan Lee.

Arguably the most recognized name in comics, Lee has created more than 140 legendary pop culture characters including Spider-Man, the Fantastic Four, the X-Men and the Hulk. Lee’s name appears on more than one billion comics in 75 countries in 25 languages. Movies, coloring books, pajamas and lunch boxes the world over feature the images of Stan’s creations and his imagination has inspired generations of comic fans.

The documentary, “True Believer,” takes viewers inside the vivid life, home and imagination of Stan Lee. The film uncovers original transcripts, illustrations, photographs and stories of Lee’s fascinating journey from his Depression-era upbringing through the Marvel age of comics and beyond.

“True Believer” interviews include: Tobey Maguire, Nicolas Cage, Ringo Starr, Thomas Haden Church, Michael Chiklis, Todd McFarlane, John Romita Sr., Joe Quesada, Paul Levitz, Joe Simon, Kevin Smith and more.

The “True Believer” teaser will premier at San Diego’s Comic-Con Thursday, July 26, 2007 at 1:45 p.m. in room 6-CDEF followed by the panel Q&A session and fan raffle and autograph session with Stan Lee. The event will run approximately one hour.
