D3Publisher and WB Making 100 Bullets Game

D3Publisher of America, Inc. (D3PA) and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment today announced a licensing agreement for DC Comics/Vertigo’s 100 Bullets, allowing D3PA to develop and publish console, handheld, and PC games based on the renowned comic book series. The first game is scheduled for release in Q3 2007.

“‘100 Bullets’ has all the elements necessary to translate exceptionally well into video games,” said Careen Yapp, vice president of licensing and business development of D3PA. “We look forward to bringing the unique characters and storyline of ‘100 Bullets’ to life with the latest interactive technology and graphics, and will work closely with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Comics/Vertigo to maintain the authenticity consumers demand.”

“Taking the thrilling story elements and incredible action from the ‘100 Bullets’ comic series and incorporating explosive gameplay will make an exciting game for fans and gamers,” said Scott Johnson, vice president of business development for Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. “Working with D3PA and DC Comics/Vertigo, we will utilize the source material to give players the authentic feel they are looking for.”

Written by contemporary comic book writer Brian Azzarello and illustrated by award-winning artist Eduardo Risso, 100 Bullets is part crime story and part espionage thriller. It tells the interrelated stories of people who are given the chance to take deadly revenge against those who have done them wrong with no strings attached.
