Grammnet Adapting The Legend of Isis

Variety reports that Paramount-based Grammnet Productions, headed by Kelsey Grammer (“Frasier”), has acquired writer Ali Russell’s Isis pitch as a vehicle with feature and TV potential.

Family action-adventure, described as being in the vein of “Romancing the Stone” meets “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” centers on a young girl who finds the bracelet of Isis and inherits her powers in addition to awakening a dark force. Project’s based on the Darren Davis comicbook of the same name.

Grammer & Joanne Asquith Weiss will produce through Grammnet, along with Brooklyn Weaver of Energy Entertainment, who manages Russell.

Jessica Hochman Casale, who brought the project in and will oversee for Grammnet, also will share in a producing capacity with Daniel Alter, who manages Davis.

Several graphic novels featuring the character are coming which you can read about here.

Daniel Alter told Superhero Hype! exclusively that creator Darren Davis also hatched the former Image series The 10th Muse, which was written by comics legend Marv Wolfman, and debuted in Diamond’s Top 10 sales chart. Weaver and Alter have also been developing that for some time and plan to announce a writer and studio home shortly!
