Born Again director Jeffrey Nachmanoff recently appeared on the Phase Hero podcast where he revealed that “With Interest,” the fifth episode of the season, was the only one that was left untouched after Marvel decided to rework the show to be closer to the Netflix version. The episode is notable for featuring Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) teaming up with Ms. Marvel’s father, Yusuf Khan (Mohan Kapur).
“This episode is the only completely untouched episode, I believe, from the original version of the show before we went back and reworked it,” he explained. “You can feel that. It has that bottle episode feel because it’s just Matt for the most part.”

The director added, “This is a bank heist gone wrong episode, and you treat it as its own contained story. That’s what we did. We actually shot it in the same bank down on Wall Street where they shot Inside Man.”

Marvel Studios initially started production on a wholly different version of Daredevil: Born Again in early 2023. However, during a production pause brought on by the writers’ and actors’ strikes, Marvel looked at the already-shot footage and reportedly didn’t like what they saw, leading to the announcement that Born Again would be completely reworked to better connect it to the Netflix/Marvel shows.
The biggest change out of the creative overhaul was Marvel Studios’ officially making all the Netflix/Marvel shows, collectively referred to as The Defenders Saga, part of the MCU’s sacred timeline. Other changes included bringing back Daredevil star Ayelet Zurer as Vanessa Fisk. The role had previously been recast with Sandrine Holt. Deborah Ann Woll and Elden Henson were also brought back following the creative overhaul, reprising their Daredevil roles of Karen Page and Foggy Nelson, respectively.
Daredevil: Born Again is available to stream on Disney+. A second season is currently in production in New York.
