With the ongoing Daredevil: Born Again currently occupying fans’ attention, its lead actor has come out to reveal an interesting tidbit about Netflix’s now-iconic take on the fan-favorite superhero. Charlie Cox noted that he suffered a nasty injury while production on the legendary hallway fight sequence, showcased in Daredevil Season 1 Episode 2, was going on.
Charlie Cox describes how he injured himself while filming Netflix’s Daredevil Season 1
In a recent discussion, The Defenders star recalled his experience filming the renowned one-shot corridor fight in the debut season of Netflix’s Daredevil series. He even disclosed that he sustained a finger injury during the process.
Charlie Cox conveyed the said information during his recent appearance on GQ’s Action Replay segment. During the interview, both he and his Daredevil co-star, Vincent D’Onofrio, reacted to several prominent moments from the Marvel series. This included the hallway fight scene in Daredevil Season 1 Episode 2. It has since etched its place in superhero television history due to its stunning action choreography.
While breaking down the said sequence, Cox remarked that he suffered from an injury on his little finger. “We shot it very early on. It’s the end of Episode 2, but I was still playing catch up in terms of all of the stunts and getting used to doing some martial arts,” he commented.
The English actor then doubled down on the demanding nature of the scene. He stated, “I was not really in a position to do much of that particular fight because it all takes place as an oner [aka one-shot sequence]. In one of the early takes, I swung a punch and caught my little finger on the pole. I got injured in that fight scene.”
After a seven-year hiatus, Charlie Cox has now returned as Hell’s Kitchen guardian through Daredevil: Born Again. The revival series has already premiered four episodes of its debut chapter, with more episodes to follow on Disney+.
