Spider-Man 4 will reportedly feature a female villain, with a notable actress already cast in the role, according to recent claims. While unconfirmed, speculation follows Sadie Sink‘s rumored involvement as Mary Jane Watson and ongoing discussions about potential multiverse connections.

Spider-Man 4 rumored to feature a female villain

MyTimeToShineHello stated on X (formerly Twitter), “Spider-Man 4 will have a FEMALE main villain. It’s NOT Sadie Sink. They already have someone cast. Announcement imminent.” Sadie Sink, known for Stranger Things, is reportedly joining the MCU as a new interpretation of Mary Jane Watson. However, Sink will reportedly not portray the villainous character in the upcoming film.

Spider-Man’s notable female adversaries in the comics include Felicia Hardy (Black Cat), Silver Sable, Screwball, Stunner, Delilah, and White Rabbit. Observers frequently identify Black Cat as the most likely choice due to her prominence within the Spider-Man lore, though the film could introduce a character not typically associated with Spider-Man stories.

Jeff Sneider recently noted in his newsletter that Sony’s collaboration with Marvel requires each Spider-Man installment to feature a significant MCU character. Given that rumors suggest Sadie Sink will portray Mary Jane Watson, the unidentified female villain could fulfill this contractual requirement, potentially tying directly into established MCU storylines.

In an interview with Deadline, Tom Holland emphasized the importance of Spider-Man 4, stating, “We have the best in the business working toward whatever the story might be. But until we’ve cracked it, we have a legacy to protect. The third movie was so special in so many ways that we need to make sure we do the right thing.”

Spider-Man 4’s release date was recently adjusted, moving from July 24, 2026, to July 31, 2026. Holland previously mentioned his desire for Spider-Man to mentor younger heroes, specifically referencing Miles Morales and Spider-Woman, during the press tour for “Uncharted” in 2022. Holland clarified, stating he did not want to play Spider-Man past 30 without first passing the baton to a younger hero.
