The latest update regarding the much-awaited Spider-Man 4 seems to hint at the possible appearance of Charlie Cox’s Daredevil. Tom Holland’s wall-crawler and Cox’s blind vigilante famously shared the screen in 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home and ended up garnering an enthusiastic response from the audience. Aside from a brief appearance from Daredevil in the She-Hulk series, both superheroes have remained absent from MCU projects ever since. However, a recent scoop has suggested that Cox’s Matt Murdock might just make a cameo in Spider-Man 4.
New Spider-Man 4 hints at Charlie Cox’s Daredevil joining the cast
The update, provided by renowned film critic Jeff Sneider, stated that it is highly probable for Charlie Cox to join the Spider-Man 4 cast as Daredevil.
In his recent newsletter, Sneider noted, “I’ve heard that Charlie Cox’s Daredevil is poised for an appearance in Spider-Man 4.” He then shed light on the possibility of an appearance from Punisher in the Tom Holland-led sequel. “My sources were torn on an appearance from Jon Bernthal’s Punisher, though I’ll lean toward ‘no’ myself right now,” the internet scooper speculated.
At the time of writing, Marvel has yet to share any significant details regarding the cast of Spider-Man 4. Nevertheless, Sony’s Amy Pascal disclosed that the movie will focus more on the character’s web-slinging exploits. This is because “being Peter Parker was too hard” for the superhero following the events of No Way Home.
Aside from Daredevil, several rumors have also suggested an appearance from Venom or Knull in Spider-Man 4. However, neither Sony nor Marvel has come out to comment on this speculation as of yet. Pascal has confirmed that Shang-Chi’s Destin Daniel Cretton will be occupying the director’s chair for the project. Moreover, Zendaya will also reprise her role of MJ for Spider-Man’s fourth solo outing in the MCU.
Despite the aforementioned details, Spider-Man 4 has yet to receive an official release date from its creators.
