Following Jonathan Majors’ firing as the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Kang the Conqueror, many have speculated Colman Domingo to replace him. A recent reveal could hint at a spot for him in the MCU. But, whether it’ll be as Kang remains to be seen.
Colman Domingo reveals how his meeting with Marvel went
While fans have speculated about Colman Domingo’s role in the MCU (mostly as Kang), The Madness star confirmed that he has met Marvel already. However, he claims that it wasn’t about any particular character. His role could be decided in the future, but nothing is confirmed right now.
In an interview with ScreenGeek, he said:
“I have had a meeting with Marvel, yes. But it wasn’t specifically about anything. They literally sat down and said, “What do you want to do?” And I said, “I don’t know. What do you got for me?” So we’re having engagement, of course.”
He continued by showing a lot of interest in joining the MCU:
“Who would not want to be a part of the MCU? I just wouldn’t want it to be right. And something that is created for me and something where I feel like I can give something of myself to. So we’ll find out what that is. I don’t know what it is yet, but I’m patient.”
He can still be the new Kang if Marvel plans to use the villain. But after Jonathan Majors’ exit, Robert Downey Jr. was brought back to take over as the Multiverse Saga’s new big bad. His Doctor Doom would put Kang in the backseat. However, Marvel has yet to confirm how this transition would happen.
It’s worth noting that if Kang has little to no screen time, replacing Majors for the villain may not be fruitful for Domingo. Hence, fans might see him as a different character than Kang, and those who wished for him to take on Majors’ role might be disappointed.
