X-Men Could Play a Crucial Role in Avengers: Secret Wars, Kevin Feige Teases

Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige has recently given a hint regarding the participation of X-Men in the upcoming movie Avengers: Secret Wars and the next phase of the MCU. Although Patrick Stewart as Professor X aka Charles Xavier and Hugh Jackman as Wolverine have appeared in the MCU in the current phase, Marvel fans have been eagerly waiting for the whole team to make an entrance.

Kevin Feige addresses the X-Men’s importance in Secret Wars and beyond

Disney’s D23 Fan Event, held in Brazil, turned out to be quite a significant event for Marvel Studios. They unveiled the official trailers for their two upcoming movies, Captain America: Brave New World and Thunderbolts*. However, Kevin Feige used the opportunity to drop some surprises for the fans.

In an interview with Omelete, Feige spoke about the Studios’ approach in making Avengers: Endgame and Avengers: Secret Wars. He also spilled some information about X-Men’s role in the movie. Feige highlighted how following Avengers: Endgame the MCU started a new journey catering to the multiverse.

The Marvel Studios head stated, “When we were preparing for ‘Avengers: Endgame’ years ago, it was about reaching the big finale of our narrative, and after that, we had to start everything over.” Feige further added, “This time, on the way to ‘Secret Wars,’ we already know very well what the story will be up to that point and beyond. The X-Men are an important part of that future.”

Following the conclusion of the Multiverse Saga fans can expect Marvel to jump to the Mutant Saga, which will portray X-Men in significant roles. According to a report by The Direct, Marvel Studios is already planning the projects that will be released after Avengers: Secret Wars.

One X-Men project that Marvel released this year was X-Men ’97, which was highly successful among critics and masses of fans.
