After releasing a string of sub-par projects in recent years, Marvel Studios announced its roaring comeback earlier this year with Deadpool & Wolverine. Serving as Ryan Reynolds’ entry into the MCU, Deadpool 3 broke all kinds of records on its way to earning over $1.3 billion at the global box office during its theatrical run. As such, fans have been gunning to know more about future projects that could feature the return of the red-clad mercenary as well as Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine. From the looks of it, these wishes seem to have been answered by Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, who has provided an update on the topic.
Kevin Feige wants Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine and Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool to return soon
In a recent discussion, Feige did not confirm particularly but hinted that Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine and Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool might return for future MCU projects soon.
The accredited producer shed light on the fate of the two characters during an interview with Omelete at D23 Brazil. Aside from hinting at his plans with Deadpool and Wolverine, Feige also conveyed that his team is constantly brainstorming ways to utilize the iconic duo on the big screen. “The plans with ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’ will always be the same: we’re always wondering where we can fit them in and how fast,” he clarified. At the time of writing, Marvel has yet to announce the return of both Deadpool and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine. As such, it remains uncertain as to when and what projects will the two superheroes feature in next. While internet scoopers have theorized that a Deadpool & Wolverine sequel talks are currently underway, this speculation has yet to be officially confirmed.
Hugh Jackman famously returned to his legendary role of Wolverine via 2024’s Deadpool 3, after having announced his retirement from the part in 2017’s Logan. Nevertheless, Feige’s recent updates seem to suggest that fans should be able to see Jackman don his iconic claws in the near future.
