Rumor: Andor Season 2 to Bring Back Andy Serkis as Kino Loy

A new rumor suggests that Andy Serkis, known for his diverse roles, might make a comeback as Kino Loy in Season 2 of Andor. Serkis’ Kino Loy is a prisoner in the Narkina 5 Arc. While serving his time, he works as the floor manager, regulating and monitoring the operations of the other prisoners in Unit Five-Two-D.

Andy Serkis’ Kino Loy from the 2022 series Andor, was one of the most-loved characters among the Star Wars fandom. However, following the events of the show, the incident that occurred with Kino Loy put a dent in the hopes of fans to see him on screen again.

However, recently industry scooper My Time To Shine Hello took to X (formerly Twitter) to make a claim. Sharing a post about the 2nd anniversary of Kino Loy’s debut in Andor, they wrote, “He’s back in season 2.” However, nothing regarding Andy Serkis’ return has been confirmed by the actor or the showrunners. Andor Season 2 is expected to come out in 2025.

Although Serkis’ stint in Andor Season 1 was just for three episodes, he left quite an impact on the viewers. Kino Loy leads a prison escape to save his fellow prisoners after learning about the truth about the facility. However, he finds himself trapped, with water surrounding the facility. As Loy reveals he can’t swim, the emotions connect with a wider audience, leaving a soft spot for him among many.

Andy Serkis spoke about whether Kino Loy survives the final moments fans witness of him on screen or not. In a 2023 chat with Entertainment Weekly, he said, “All that we do know is that he survives. I mean, we don’t see him die. We see him left for a further life of the character.”
