All Symbiotes in Venom 3: The Last Dance

Venom: The Last Dance is the third and final entry in the Tom Hardy-led franchise, which also includes 2018’s Venom and 2021’s Venom: Let There Be Carnage. The previous entries in the trilogy have symbiotes such as Riot and Carnage. Now, the epic concluding chapter, Venom 3, has a bigger scope, better stakes, and more symbiotes than ever. Accordingly, fans are wondering how many symbiotic extraterrestrials appear in the movie.

In Venom: The Last Dance, Eddie Brock (Hardy) and Venom find themselves in the crosshairs of Knull, a cosmic entity that created all the symbiotes, and the government initiative Imperium Program, seeking to capture and study the symbiotes. The very premise of the movie implies that multiple symbiotes will appear in it, and they do.

Venom

The titular symbiote obviously appears in The Last Dance and is at the center of the narrative, along with its host. At the start of the movie, Knull sends out the Xenophages to find the Codex to free himself from the captivity the symbiotes imposed on him. The said Codex was created when Venom saved Eddie in the first movie, making the two Knull’s primary targets in The Last Dance.

Patrick Mulligan’s Symbiote

Toward the end of Let There Be Carnage, Stephen Graham’s Patrick Mulligan appears to be alive, despite being hanged with chains by Naomie Harris’ Frances Barrison / Shriek. His eyes start to glow blue, denoting that his body is now the host to a symbiote. Many presumed that Mulligan would become Toxin in the third movie just like in the comics.

However, that symbiote seemingly has left Mulligan when Imperium captures him. The organization’s scientists pair him with one of the symbiotes from their collection. It is unknown whether this symbiote or the previous one is supposed to be Toxin.

Agony

Agony is the purple-colored symbiote that bonds with Juno Temple’s Dr. Teddy Payne. In the climactic scene, Dr. Payne merges with the symbiote and gains speedster-like powers.

Lasher

The green-colored symbiote Lasher bonds with Clark Backo’s Sadie Christmas, a researcher working under Dr. Payne at Imperium.

Phage

Phage is likely the golden symbiote that merges with the character named Jim, though the alien doesn’t seem to possess Phage’s powers from the comics.

Twin / two-headed symbiote

A two-headed monstrous symbiote also appears in the movie after two symbiotes merge into one along with their hosts in the climax. However, its comic-book origin is unclear.

Other symbiotes

Several other symbiotes appear in the climactic sequence, including a white one, which is probably Anti-Venom. Ultimately, almost all of them are killed during their confrontation with the Xenophages.
