The build-up to Venom 3, a.k.a. Venom: The Last Dance, has all Marvel fans excited, majorly due to its overbearing connection to the MCU. The threequel is set to conclude Sony’s Venom trilogy, with Tom Hardy effectively ending the actor’s take on the iconic Marvel character. Nevertheless, with several rumors suggesting that the symbiote saga will continue in the MCU, several fans believe that Tom Hardy might just make an appearance in the much-awaited Spider-Man 4. In a recent discussion, the Dunkirk star addressed these speculations himself and provided his take on his proposed inclusion in the MCU.
Tom Hardy says ‘I don’t see’ Venom in Spider-Man 4
Tom Hardy recently revealed that he does not see his Venom featuring in the upcoming Spider-Man 4 as he has yet to receive its script.
The Hollywood veteran relayed the aforementioned update in a brief interview with The Associated Press during a recent promotional tour for Venom 3. Sharing his opinion on potentially appearing in the Tom Holland-led Spider-Man 4, Hardy said, “I don’t see him in the next Spider-Man movie, because I’d have the script and I don’t have that.”
Despite Tom Hardy’s reservations regarding Spider-Man 4, much of the MCU fanbase believes that the monstrous anti-hero does have a future in Marvel’s forthcoming projects. Both Hardy and Holland have dropped hints in the past that highlight their enthusiasm for turning a crossover between Venom and Spider-Man into reality. Hardy famously shared a photo of Venom savagely attacking the web crawler in 2020 before deleting it from his Instagram profile. Meanwhile, Tom Holland has also expressed his desire to share the screen with Hardy’s Venom.
On top of that, Venom 2 director Andy Serkis also mentioned that they wanted the audience to know “that these universes are going to somehow collide.” Many would also allude to Andrew Garfield’s constant denial of featuring in Spider-Man: No Way Home in the past before ultimately making an appearance in the movie. As such, there are possibilities for Hardy’s Venom to play a part in Spider-Man 4, despite the actor’s recent comments.
However, neither Sony nor Marvel Studios have shared any official update to clarify Hardy’s future in the MCU at the time of writing.
