Andrew Garfield Says He’s Had Spider-Man Return Talks

Andrew Garfield was recently asked in an interview about his potential return as Spider-Man and whether he had begun conversations with Sony on this subject.

The actor, who returned once before in the role of the web-slinger in Spider-Man: No Way Home alongside Tom Holland and Tobey Maguire, has recently been promoting his upcoming movie We Live in Time. However, with Spider-Man 4 in development at Marvel, fans have been curious about whether he still has a future as Peter Parker.

Andrew Garfield says ‘assumption is not unfounded’ that he’s had Spider-Man return talks

Andrew Garfield was recently present for an interview with podcast host Josh Horowitz on his Happy, Sad, Confused segment. In a clip posted by Horowitz on his channel on YouTube, he says to Garfield that he will have just one Spider-Man question for the actor.

Horowitz spoke to Garfield about his potential return as Spider-Man by saying, “I refuse to believe that in the last few years, you haven’t had some conversations about what might be the future.” Garfield laughed in response before giving a coy answer to the implied question.

As seen in the clip, Garfield replied to Horowitz by saying, “Yeah, of course, your assumption is not unfounded. If I was in your position, I can imagine going, ‘Yeah, he’s probably had some conversations,’ too, yeah.”

Horowitz was then more direct and inquired about whether Garfield had provided any ideas to Sony and producer Amy Pascal about Spider-Man’s future. But, avoiding any potential upsets or spoilers, the actor continued, “I also understand that question as well. I understand in your position you’re going to be wondering, because it was such a success, that you’d kind of go, ‘Well they must be talking about it.’”

Horowitz then attempted one last time to phrase the question about Garfield returning as Spider-Man in a way that he could answer more directly. However, the actor humorously considered the ramifications of answering the question directly one way or the other and ultimately declined to comment on the final question.
