Agatha All Along Creator Addresses if Mephisto Will Cameo

Agatha All Along just cannot do away with the Mephisto theories encircling the show, especially after the fantastical villain was name-dropped in Episode 3. As such, many have theorized that the extra-terrestrial demon could make his MCU debut in the series. In a recent discussion, Agatha All Along showrunner Jac Schaeffer finally addressed this burning question.

Jac Schaeffer responds to Mephisto theories for Agatha All Along

Schaeffer gave her take on the demonic ruler’s potential cameo in the ongoing series about Kathryn Hahn’s titular witch.

During an interaction with TheWrap, the Agatha All Along creator was asked about the significance of Mephisto’s mention in Episode 3. Schaeffer opened her account by stating that she was completely oblivious to the character’s existence at the time of WandaVision’s release. Nonetheless, she has now familiarized herself with Mephisto’s lore and how he ties into Agatha’s story.

“It was a shock to the writer’s room that the Mephisto piece took off the way it did with WandaVision. And yes, this scene in Episode 3, [executive producer] Mary Livanos and I talked, and we were like, ‘We gotta say the man’s name,'” Schaeffer said while talking about Mephisto’s connection to Agatha All Along.

However, she shied away from giving a definitive answer to Mephisto’s involvement in the series. “I can neither confirm or nor deny,” Schaeffer said. “That scene that you’re talking about, between Jen and Teen is really about all of the conflicting rumors about Agatha.”

She then doubled down on the ambiguity surrounding Mephisto’s inclusion while addressing a theory about a mysterious pyro-man in Agatha All Along Episode 1. “I would say that that theory is an overreach,” Schaeffer replied.

While she continues to play coy with Mephisto’s possible cameo, all things seem to suggest that the villainous entity will appear in the MCU eventually. Nonetheless, there is no substantial evidence as to when this development could take place.

The ongoing Agatha All Along series drops its fourth episode on Wednesday, October 2.
