James Gunn’s Superman comes out in the U.S. theaters on July 11, 2025, and will be the first cinematic entry in the DC Universe. Although the movie is currently in post-production, having wrapped filming in July 2024, there hasn’t been that much official content displaying the looks of the various characters except a glimpse of David Corenswet in the Superman suit and the Superman logo revelation. But now, the Superman movie merchandise reportedly given to the cast and crew teases how Corenswet’s Superman and Clark Kent, Rachel Brosnahan’s Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult’s Lex Luthor, and others will look in the movie.
Superman merch reveals Nicholas Hoult’s Luthor, David Corenswet’s Clark Kent
Among the merch reportedly handed to the Superman cast and crew as wrap gifts, there is a coffee mug featuring the art of Superman, Clark Kent, Lois Lane, Lex Luthor, Edi Gathegi’s Mister Terrific, and more. While the Man of Steel can be seen standing in a straight posture and sporting the iconic spit curl, his alter ego Clark Kent is slightly hunched over, wearing a gray suit, and has messy hair. Lois has her hair down and is sporting a white blouse, a black vest, and a pair of black slacks, whereas Luthor has a comic-accurate shaved head and is wearing a gray suit as well. Meanwhile, Mr. Terrific appears to be in his superhero gear just like Superman.
While the mug art is not an official image, it does offer us a sneak peek at how these characters might appear in the movie. The photos of the merch were shared by the X (formerly, Twitter) user @DCU_Updates.
Aside from the mug, the wrap gifts included a prop crystal representing the ones from Superman’s Fortress of Solitude, a Big Belly Burger (a fictional fast food restaurant chain within the DC Comics Universe) beer koozie, a hat from the Dough Holes Donuts (a brand that seemingly doesn’t exist in the DC mythos), and a letterman cast and crew jacket.
