Spider-Man Movie Composer Questions Beyond the Spider-Verse Delay Rumors

Fans continue to wonder about Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse’s release date as rumors swirl about its potential delay to 2027. However, franchise composer Daniel Pemberton has questioned the accuracy of the latest rumor.

Daniel Pemberton implies Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse delay rumors could be inaccurate

Following Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse’s indefinite delay from March 2024, fans seek clarity over its new release plans. But, a recent rumor has suggested that the film was looking at a potential 2027 release.

As per familiar industry insider Jeff Sneider, Sony has scrapped the existing work on the threequel due to “creative” reasons. Furthermore, the film could be moved to 2027 in order to vacate a 2026 release slot for MCU’s Spider-Man 4.

But, with the scoop gaining traction, Daniel Pemberton took to X (previously Twitter) to address it. He has implied that the delay rumors aren’t correct.

Check out his post here:

While there’s still no potential release date or window available for Beyond the Spider-Verse, Pemberton is likely to be believed. After all, Sony may not want to meddle with the original plans that producers Phil Lord and Christopher Miller have had for the third Spider-Verse film.

The first two animated features were raved by fans and critics alike. Furthermore, they were produced by an independent Sony subsidiary, Sony Pictures Animation, which is overseen by president Kristine Belson. So, any rumors about Sony Pictures interfering to rework its story due to “creative” reasons are to be taken with a grain of salt.

Furthermore, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse actor Karan Soni recently confirmed his return in the next outing, stating that the film is “deep in production.”

He stated:

“I’m continuing on for Spider-Man. We’re going to start recording for that one in a few months which I’m so excited about. That movie is deep in production. It’s animation, so it’s different and takes a long time. We’ll see when it’s ready and when it ends up coming out, but, I’m really excited. That was one of the biggest joys to get to play that character. So I’m excited to get another chance and to do it again.”

While Soni mentioned the longer timeframe needed for animation, his voice recording window along with other cast members could mean a much sooner release for Beyond the Spider-Verse than 2027. However, nothing is confirmed at the moment.
