WandaVision, the MCU miniseries, premiered on Disney Plus in 2021. It partially focused on the dynamic between Wanda Maximoff / Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) and her neighbor Agnes (Kathryn Hahn), who is actually Agatha Harkness, a powerful witch. Now, days before the debut of Agatha’s own series, Agatha All Along, the creator of both shows, Jac Schaeffer, has revealed that Agatha wanted to “kiss” or “destroy” Wanda, adding another layer of complexity to their relationship.

In a recent interview, Schaeffer shed light on how Agatha saw Wanda. She indicated that the former’s view of Wanda wasn’t completely antagonistic.
“What got me the most excited was right at the end [of WandaVision], when she finally faces off with Wanda,” Schaeffer told SFX Magazine. “Does she want to destroy Wanda? Does she want to be best friends with Wanda? Does she want to braid Wanda’s hair? Does she want to kiss Wanda? Does she want to go on a rampage with Wanda? Yes to all, and that was fascinating to me,” she added. (via The Direct)
In the final episode of WandaVision, Wanda traps Agatha in her Agnes persona. The latter can no longer use her powers or leave Westview. But it appears that Agatha will get free in Agatha All Along with the help of Joe Locke’s “Teen.”
According to Hahn, the story of her character and Wanda is not yet over. “Like a final chord on a story has not been hit,” she said to SFX Magazine. “Nothing has been resolved. And because it was Wanda that has put Agatha in this position, she is definitely in the ether, I’d say.”
Hahn’s comment comes during a time when Wanda’s future in the MCU remains unclear. Wanda last appeared in the 2022 movie Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, in which she seemingly sacrifices herself while destroying all versions of the Darkhold across the multiverse. Some fan speculations theorize that Joe Locke’s “Teen” is an MCU variation of the superhero Wiccan, or William “Billy” Kaplan-Altman, a reincarnation of Wanda’s son, Billy. If that is the case, he can play an important role in Wanda’s potential return to the MCU narrative.
