James Gunn seemed to be in an energetic mood as he took to social media to make a celebratory post.

Along with the photos, Gunn added, ”On this day, #Peacemaker aka Christopher Smith made his first comic appearance in Fightin’ 5 #40, in 1966, created by Joe Gill and Pat Boyette. It’s the role @JohnCena was born to play.” Enhancing excitement for the upcoming season, Gunn stated, ”And I can’t wait to show you all what we’re cooking up now for @Peacemaker Season 2!”

Soon after wrapping up filming for David Corenswet starrer Superman, Gunn shifted his focus toward Peacemaker Season 2. Meanwhile, as per ComicBook.com, not all episodes of Peacemaker Season 2 will be helmed by Gunn, and he will only direct some of them.
