Marvel is gearing up for the release of its upcoming mini-series, Agatha All Along in September 2024. With this, the star cast associated with the show is going all out in promotions. Recently, Joe Locke, who plays the role of Teen in Marvel’s Agatha All Along revealed his feelings about being a gay character in the show in an interview. Jake Locke talked about bagging a role in Marvel and what he feels about playing Teen in Agatha All Along.
The up-and-coming actor was the latest guest to have a hearty conversation with Variety recently. Although not much information about Locke’s Teen has been revealed to the fans, Marvel only confirmed that his character would be gay in the series. Talking about it Locke said, “I’ve never really thought about it. It’s one of those things that gets a bit stressful if you think about it too much. But being in a Marvel series is the most pinch-me thing.
As per a report by Comic Book Movie, Locke has also expressed his feelings about the backlash his character Teen from Agatha All Along is facing. He called out the trolls in an interview and said, “I’m fully aware that the Marvel fandom is far less nice than the ‘Heartstopper’ fandom. There’s going to be a lot of people that just hate everything about the character and everything about what I’ve done with it, and I just have to be OK with that.”
The Heartstopper actor further stated, “Marvel fans are very open with their opinions. But they’re not in a Marvel show. I’m doing the one thing that they really wish they could be doing. Sorry!”
Joe Locke’s Agatha All Along, which features Kathryn Hahn as the titular character, will be out on Disney Plus on September 8, 2024.
