Channing Tatum ‘Was Too Scared’ To Steal Deadpool & Wolverine’s Gambit Suit

Channing Tatum‘s portrayal of Gambit has won the hearts of many superhero fans worldwide after his cameo appearance in Deadpool & Wolverine. The actor has also been praising the people who made his dream of playing Gambit on the big screen become a reality. He was recently asked if he was allowed to take Gambit’s suit home as a souvenir. Here’s what Tatum had to say about the Gambit costume.

Channing Tatum reveals whether he got to keep Deadpool & Wolverine’s Gambit costume

Deadpool & Wolverine had many surprise cameos for longtime fans of superhero movies. Alongside Tatum’s Gambit, fans got to see Wesley Snipes back as Blade, Chris Evans reprising his role of Johnny Storm, and Jennifer Garner return as Elektra, as well as many other cameos that referenced past Marvel movie projects, both finished and unrealized.

Channing Tatum’s appearance as Gambit referenced a long-gestating solo movie project that would have starred Tatum as the character but never came to be. Considering how much Channing Tatum admires the character of Gambit as his favorite superhero, his fiancée, actress Zoe Kravitz, recently asked him whether he got to keep the suit after Deadpool & Wolverine wrapped filming.

Tatum, Kravitz, and Naomi Ackie were promoting their movie Blink Twice with Vanity Fair and took a fun lie detector test. During Channing Tatum’s turn, Kravitz asks him, “Since you’ve always wanted to play him (Gambit), did you ask to keep the costume?” In his answer, Tatum confessed, “I was too scared to ask. And usually, I steal the very last outfit that I’m in, in every movie, and I was too scared to do it on this one.”

So far, fan reactions to Channing Tatum’s version of Gambit have been largely positive, and the demands for a solo movie with him are at an all-time high. So, he may get to see the outfit again in the future.
