Ryan Reynolds has reaffirmed his support for a prospective fourth Blade film featuring Wesley Snipes. The two actors recently reunited on the big screen in the superhero blockbuster Deadpool & Wolverine, two decades after their last movie together, Blade: Trinity. Deadpool & Wolverine marks Snipes’ debut as Blade in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, where a Blade movie is already in development with Mahershala Ali portraying the character.
Ryan Reynolds wants ‘more Blade’ with Wesley Snipes
Reynolds continues to back the idea of the fourth entry in Wesley Snipes’ Blade films after working with him in Deadpool & Wolverine. He recently took to Instagram to reiterate his support for the potential sequel. He shared several behind-the-scenes photos and stills and noted the incredible audience response Snipes’ character drew in theaters.
“The reaction when [Snipes] enters the movie is the most intense thing l’ve heard in a theater. People screaming with uninhibited joy and love is also the sound of a legacy,” Reynolds wrote. The Spirited actor continued, “More Blade please. #DayWalker… A Logan-style send off, specifically.”

In early August, Reynolds remarked in a post on X (formerly, Twitter) that there wouldn’t be a FOX Marvel Universe or the MCU if the market hadn’t been developed by Blade. He voiced his support for a Logan-like send-off for the character at the time as well.
“There is no Fox Marvel Universe or MCU without Blade first creating a market. He’s Marvel Daddy. Please retweet for a Logan-like send off,” he posted.
However, with Ali already tapped to play the character in the MCU, it’s unclear how this project will shape up if it were to happen. Snipes previously portrayed the character in Blade (1998), Blade II (2002), and Blade: Trinity (2004).
Notably, there were reports that Reynolds and Snipes didn’t get along on the set of the last Blade movie, though by all indications, they appear to be on better terms now. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly in July 2024, Snipes offered his candid observation on what Reynolds did in Blade: Trinity and Deadpool & Wolverine.
“Some of the things he did back in those days, that’s not really my humor,” the Back on the Strip actor explained. “I’m not tuned in that way. So I thought, ‘Well, it’s a little over the top for me.’ But seeing him do it in this context [in Deadpool & Wolverine] made a lot of sense. And seeing him do it and do it well, Ryan does something that most people can’t do. He’s unique in that way, and he’s found a fantastic niche for himself doing what he does. Deadpool is Ryan Reynolds all day long. So it was enjoyable. It was enjoyable to work with him. It was enjoyable to revisit,” he added.
